Shauna Sylvester

Shauna Sylvester is a Professor of Professional Practice and the Director of Simon Fraser University’s Centre for Dialogue. She is an award winning social entrepreneur, facilitator, and commentator. She is the founder of four initiatives - Carbon Talks, Renewable Cities, Canada's World and IMPACS - the Institute for Media, Policy and Civil Society and served as the first Executive Director of the SFU Public Square. Shauna has led several dialogues on density, business development, transportation and energy for Canadian municipalities and was the lead facilitator for the Mayor’s Task Force on Affordable Housing in Vancouver, the convenor of Moving in a Livable Region - a transportation consortium in Metro Vancouver and co-organizer of WeTheCity and Campus to City.
