Fundamental Science Review 2016:

In June 2016, the Honourable Kirsty Duncan, Minister of Science launched an independent review of federal funding for fundamental science. Following consultations with members, the Federation has submitted recommendations for how to improve the Canadian research system, with a particular focus on how to strengthen the important contributions of research in the humanities and social sciences to help produce the knowledge and understanding Canada needs for a prosperous, inclusive and democratic future.

Investing in Canada: The report of the Advisory Panel on Federal Support for Fundamental Science

The landmark report of the independent Advisory Panel on Federal Support for Fundamental Science chaired by Dr. David Naylor was tabled in mid-April 2017, following extensive consultations. The panel was commissioned by Science Minister Kirsty Duncan in June 2016. The report is a detailed and compelling assessment of Canada’s federally funded research system that includes unprecedented attention to the important contributions of the humanities and social sciences.
